About the instructor
Farahnaz Samari started her painting journey in high school, and now it’s more than twenty-five years since she began to put paint to canvas professionally. Farah as her friends and numerous Vancouver artists like to call her, is an honours graduate in Fine Art & Interior Design at the prestigious University of Tehran.

About the instructor
Sara Mahjouri, born in 1980 in Tehran, developed a passion for drawing early on. She earned a degree in graphic design from Tehran University and became an art instructor in 2003, working with renowned artist Rahim Navasi for five years. Sara then established her own painting studio, teaching ever since. Specializing in oil painting, her work combines realism and impressionism. Her art has been featured in group shows in Iran and at Howe Street Gallery in Vancouver from 2013-2015.

Jace Junggyu Kim was born and raised in Korea until the age of 15. He graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design with a bachelor’s degree in Media art (animation). He worked in various game and motion graphic companies as a digital artist/animator, but he made a passionate transition to become a traditional painter.

About the instructor
Masoud began drawing at age five in a family of artists. By 11, his talent was recognized by a supportive teacher. In high school, he specialized in Art, creating over 30 drawings daily. He earned a Bachelor of Design, worked as an animation project manager, and plays accordion in the Araz Music Ensemble. Inspired by masters and mentored by Dan Gerhartz, Masoud developed a unique style, excelling in portraits and natural, timeless scenes.

Arianaz (Fatima) Mahvan is a Ph.D. in Persian language and literature. her academic career concerning Persian literature includes publishing numerous articles, three books and participating in various international conferences in Canada, France, Russia, and Tajikistan, to name a few.
She has been fortunate to spend a 1-year sabbatical at Cambridge and Leiden universities (2013- 2014). Concerning her educational background, she became the highest-ranking student in a Ph.D. graduating class. Also, she has been the recipient of several awards, including “The Farabi International Award on Iranian and Islamic Studies” and “The Ferdowsi Award” for both MA thesis and Ph.D. dissertation. Furthermore, she was granted membership in “National Elite Foundation.” In addition, she has several years of experience as an assistant professor at the university, for which she has received the best lecturer award twice.
